Take the Risk out of Tax Season Rush

By: David Meyer, Executive Vice President

We are in the middle of Tax season and BHPH dealerships are bracing themselves for the influx of consumers coming through their doors with tax returns in hand, ready to purchase vehicles. If you’re like most BHPH dealers, you approach this time of year with mixed feelings. On the one hand, you look forward to the bump in sales. On the other, you’re also dreading the increased risk, stress and drain on resources that accompany those sales. So let’s take a closer look at how to turn the challenges that come with the tax-season rush into opportunities.

In the wake of the economic crisis, many of your customers during tax season are still burdened with credit issues. Your in-house financing department may not have the time or resources to adequately protect the vehicle assets being driven off the lot by these credit-challenged customers. This is especially true now that the tax-season sales push has shortened dramatically to a 30-60 day cycle that started at the end of January.

So how do you take full advantage of the tax-season bump in sales, expand your finance offerings to include credit-challenged customers, while also protecting your assets and their bottom lines? For the answer to this question, turn to GPS vehicle tracking systems.

With the right GPS vehicle tracking system in place, you’ll have the confidence and security to sell more vehicles to more customers with credit issues. By installing a GPS tracking device in the vehicles in your lot, you’ll be able to continually monitor the location of your assets once they’ve been driven off. Should a vehicle become delinquent and require repossession, simply use the GPS device to quickly and cost-effectively track down and recover the asset. A GPS tracking system will save you significant money in repossession costs and skips freeing up more funds you can use to increase your inventory — instead of searching for it — to meet the increase in tax-season demand.

But before you adopt a GPS vehicle tracking as part of your tax-season strategy, be sure to carefully compare and consider your options. There are a lot of GPS tracking products out there, but not all of them deliver the features and functionality you need to ensure a rapid return on your investment.

Powerful, easy-to-use and affordable, our GoldStar GPS and EnfoTrace GPS solutions offer a number of advantages other GPS vehicle tracking solutions don’t. Key differentiators include real-time tracking vehicles’ movement and location 24/7, using a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. GoldStar GPS and EnfoTrace GPS not only capture this data, they deliver to you as actionable business intelligence via easy-to-read dashboards and web-based interfaces, as well as flexible mapping features that include hybrid views.

Our systems also come with a comprehensive suite of reports, including drive reports that tell you when a vehicle is parked for six or more hours or overnight — making it easier to confirm STIPS. Flexible features include the ability to set up geographic boundaries then receive alerts whenever a vehicle enters or leaves those boundaries. And our BHPH customers have found the starter disable feature extremely useful. This feature allows you to remotely disable a vehicle when it’s stopped, making it quicker and easier to recover. It also provides added incentive for your customers to make their payments on time.

GoldStar GPS and EnfoTrace GPS also come with the option of using Certified Express Installation Services. These services cover every aspect of the solution’s implementation, from installation of the GPS devices into the vehicles to on-going support. Within 24-48 hours after receiving the order, installation is performed at your dealership by our highly trained, certified installers. You enjoy a 12-month warranty on the installation, plus round-the-clock access to customer support. Technicians will even perform onsite diagnostics and troubleshooting. We make sure the device is working perfectly.

Lastly, you need to make sure that your GPS tracking provider has the inventory readily available for immediate shipment.  You don’t want to get caught in the middle of tax season without any GPS devices on hand and dealing with backorders from a GPS provider.  As the leaders in Automotive GPS Tracking Solutions, we’ve got you covered with an inventory of GPS devices ready to go for immediate delivery.  No more waiting, we have the devices ready for you.
