Leedom’s 20 Groups. What’s it all about?

Mark Behnke, RVP Automotive Solutions

There has been some recent buzz in the auto world around the “Twenty Group” that Leedom collaborated. To no surprise, since the inception, the partners at Leedom have served over 23,500 dealers through consulting, conferences and training.

Their sole purpose is to serve auto dealerships with current industry trends, training, consulting…the whole nine yards. The groups are composed of delegated members who play a significant role in the Auto industry. i.e. General Managers, Subprime Auto lenders, all of which are dedicated to helping dealerships improve their business. All partners have extensive hands on experience with over 30 years as dealer principals, COOs, or high ranking management positions of automobile dealerships – and the best part…..both independent and franchise!

A little history--->Leedom and Associates is a management-consulting firm that serves the automotive and finance industry. They are an extremely reputable group and Spireon has worked with them many times in the past as guest speakers or co-sponsored their events. Specifically, the firm offers Dealer Twenty Groups, consulting services, training, and education programs. Leedom and Associates also founded the National Special Finance and Buy Here – Pay Here Conference in 1996…which every dealer has certainly heard of!

Benefits to becoming a member of the group:

  •   As a member of a Twenty Group, dealers receive a monthly composite analysis comparing their operating results with those of other members in the group. This valuable information provides the foundation for measuring your dealership and increasing profits.
    •   The composite provides industry benchmarks for operating your dealership. These benchmarks allow a dealer to measure his or her business against reliable operating information from our proprietary database of statistics from more than 1,500 dealers.
      •   Each group is comprised of dealers that are of similar size and operation and are from non-competing markets.
        •   The group acts as a “board of directors” that provides valuable feedback, ideas, and a sounding board when you are faced with the daily challenges of owning and operating a dealership.
          •  A Twenty Group is the most cost effective method of dealer education and professional development.
          • Many members feel their Twenty Group helps provide a road map to profitability and prosperity.

Bottom line--àTwenty Groups are for dealers who want to improve and grow their business.

"Franchise dealers have had Twenty Groups for years. It is most rewarding to see the Independent Dealer Twenty Group program provide the incredible benefits of membership to independent dealers." ~Keith Farrish, President, Farrish Auto Group, Manassas, VA.
